The remodeling is underway!

Forbrukertilsynet will move into the Norrøna building in Porselensvegen 32, and we are already well underway with the renovation. Our dedicated project manager Stine Kruse Ytterbø has full control and works hard to ensure that the premises are tailored to Forbrukertilsynets needs. There has been a close and ongoing dialogue with them throughout the process, something Stine has ensured.

There are a number of extensive as well as minor adjustments that are required before the premises are ready for moving in, and we work hard to adapt the premises as good as possible. It is important for Bratsberg that the Consumer Agency (Forbrukertilsynet) is satisfied with their new premises, and we will do our best to ensure that they thrive in the Norrøna building. With JEMO Entreprenør AS as a part of our team we are well on our way to a handover in mid-December, Stine Kruse Ytterbø says.

The decision to move the Consumer Agency’s head office from Oslo to Porsgrunn and the Norrøna building was made in early July 2020. This put an end to a prolonged tender process and following negotiations and to a nerve-wrecking period for the Bratsberg team. After all, it is out of the ordinary that a government agency and highly recognized business move from Oslo to the Grenland region.

The Norrøna building is located close to a public transport hub and to Porsgrunn’s city center, and it extends along the western Porsgrunn River promenade. From the premises there is a view of the Porsgrunn River which the employees will enjoy. The building is located next to the Porselensfabrikken Business Park, and this location will make the Consumer Agency part of a diverse business community.

The Norrøna building is flexible and provides the Consumer Agency with growth opportunities. In the longer term it is expected that the building will house about 100 office workplaces spread over 2,000 m2. In a short term perspective the premises will be housing approximately 80 government employees. There is an ongoing process regarding the use of the remaining vacant areas and a decision is due soon.

Malin Betten Hansen from Bratsberg Næringseiendom is looking forward to getting the new tenant in place.

We are excited about the Consumer Agency choosing our premises when they decided to move from the city. We are sure that they will thrive in the Norrøna building. The Consumer Agency is a reliable tenant and is definitely a positive addition to our portfolio. We warmly welcome them in December 2020, Malin Betten Hansen says enthusiastically.
