Victoriagården

Award-winning apartment building in the centre of Skien, named after the riverboat MS Victoria, which has traveled The Telemark Canal since 1882. Victoriagården is situated in a quiet part of Skien town centre with a lovely view of, and proximity to Hjellevannet. It is within short distance of recreation areas at Bakkestranda and the town’s amenities.

The building has 29 apartments spread out over 6 floors, with a secluded top floor.

Victoriagården was awarded Skien Council’s Architectural Award in 2012 on the following grounds:

Børve & Børve & Borchsenius Architects’ design of Victoriagården is sympathetic to the rest of the buildings in Skien’s historical Hjellen area. The buildings in this area were mainly constructed shortly after the town fire of 1886. The building’s character blends in with the landscape around Hjellevannet.
