Lietorvet is a popular and readily visible shopping centre up on the ridge in the northern part of Skien. The centre is surrounded by shops, services and residential areas, and is situated by a main road. The public transport interchange, and bus and railway stations are 5-10 minutes’ walk away. From here, the main road continues north towards Siljan and Oslo.

Lietorvet shopping centre, having been extensively rehabilitated in 2018, stands now as an ultra-modern retail complex.
A large-scale residential development now underway is revitalising this area of town and enhancing opportunities for future businesses. Together with Porsgrunn Bamble Boligbyggelag (PBBL), Betonmast and FIHA Holding, Bratsberg is developing and building a residential project involving the building of 90 apartments.
